International Women's Day: Caitlin's boots are made for walking

Updated: Jun 5, 2022

Being passionate about providing the best in custom quality podiatry care is what motivated South Australian Podiatrist, Caitlin Jeffries to establish her own practice which was rebranded as Custom Podiatry Services in 2018.

In just under two years since, Custom Podiatry Service has grown to a team of ten staff members, four local podiatry clinics and ten contract service agreements with major residential care facilities.

The name isn’t all that’s new, the rebrand has encompassed a new look, new website and the latest in healthcare technology aimed to enhance the patient experience.

Being passionate about providing the best in custom quality care is what motivated South Australian Podiatrist, Caitlin Jeffries to establish her own practice,

All feet and people aren’t the same, we aim to provide a holistic view of the people we see which is why I wanted to create a brand and environment where service is the core focus of what we do.

My patients are the most important people to my healthcare business, our aim is to get them walking comfortably again. We do this through our professional team giving all patients individualised quality care that utilises the latest in foot care technology.

Caitlin has an impressive resume. Currently, she is one of the youngest members on the Podiatry Board of South Australia, Chairperson of the University Advisory Committee, Member of the Health Practitioners Tribunal Panel and is a clinical tutor at the University of South Australia. She is a young woman who is demonstrating that she is equipped with drive, passion, along with respect from her industry peers for her knowledge and that she has the expertise to successfully run her own expanding healthcare business.

In addition to a strong background in private practice, Caitlin gained over five-years-experience working part-time within acute hospital settings at both the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Repatriation General Hospital where she developed a superior skill set in the management of Diabetic patients, geriatric care and all aspects of podiatry.

It wasn’t until 2013 when the then, 24 year-old was working as an employee in a local private practice that her passion, enthusiasm, and dedication to the profession were destined for greater things.

Being in a position to implement strategies that will help people and drive awareness of the benefits of Podiatry has always been my key motivator having my own podiatry clinics.

Though running my own clinic was part of my long-term career goal, at only 24 I didn’t think an opportunity to do so was something I’d be having to consider for a few more years so was extremely humbled when The Chairman of the Podiatry Board of South Australia and his wife approached me about purchasing their clinic in Hamley Bridge.

As part of International Women's Day's 2020 campaign, Caitlin is proof #EqualIsEqual and women can achieve whatever they want to. Please join us in taking a moment to celebrate the amazing women and for all they do this #IWD2020.
